Born on 1 August 1944 in Bhopal, Professor Siddiqui was the eldest of six children and the only son of Hamid Husain, a government school teacher, and Aziza Bi.
He studied at Ubaidia Middle School and Hamidia Boys Higher Secondary School, completed his bachelor’s degree at Safia College in 1965, and earned his master’s degree in Urdu as a merit student from Hamidia Arts and Commerce College in 1968.
An academic journey
Appointed to the postgraduate Department of Urdu at Madhav College, then affiliated with Vikram University.
Promoted after nearly two decades of teaching and scholarship.
Led the postgraduate Department of Urdu at Madhav College.
Retired as professor on 31 July, leaving a distinguished academic legacy.
